WELCOME to PAIPAMT

We are glad you could visit with us.

Paipamt is a charitable Trust that cherishes old values. It is created in fond memory of two old departed souls, a husband and wife pair, who stationed for a while in a pure place on the face of the earth, in a village on the banks of river Kaaveeri, in southern parts of India. The man lived a normal life, but mostly as a saint, while his faithful wife endured all the pains. Together, they reared nine children, who are tied to them strongly for ever. This Trust is to enshrine them in everlasting memory, not only among their progeny, but also among many others whose lives they touched.

Paipamt will continue to touch many souls in their fond memory.

The Trust is floated by the children of the two, but other philanthropic-minded persons are welcome to join and lend a hand.

Footnote: To facilitate proper pronounciation of new words, the system used in the German language is being used.

Accordingly:

  • Every vowel has only one type of sound; single vowel signifies the short form, while the double vowel denotes the long form of the vowel. For consonants, since in Sanskrit and Tamil languages stressed ones are in vogue,
  • Capitol letter in the middle of a word would indicate emphasized (stressed) form of the consonant. In Tamil, there are three such sounds for 'n' and 'l'; two of them, as in Sanskrit, would be denoted as stated above. In Tamil, 'n' would denote the first two (similar) soft forms, and 'N' the stressed form. The softest form of 'l' is unique for Tamil. It is indicated by 'lh'. This is similar to the soft forms 'sh' and 'zh' of 's' and 'z', respectively.

Similar (lower case/uppercase) format applies to 't (ton)', 'd (dog)', 'ch (check)', 'th (think)', 'r' and 's'.
Also: 'g' has the sound as in 'glass'; 'kh' and 'gh' denote the stressed forms of 'k' and 'g'.
'ph' and 'bh' signify the stressed form of 'p' and 'b'. 'j' has the only sound as in 'John'. 'jh' denotes the stressed form of 'j'.
